This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit our website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
Pythia Games is a trading name of Petrifying Well Digital LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16717909), with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
For any question about this policy or your data, email us at [email protected].
What we collect
When you contact us
When you use the contact form on our website, we collect:
- your first name and, if you give it, your last name
- your email address
- links you choose to share, such as your Steam page, pitch deck or gameplay build
- your message, and anything else you choose to tell us about yourself, your studio or your game
If you email us directly, we collect your email address and whatever you include in your email.
When you visit our website
Like any website, ours is delivered by a hosting provider, which processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the site to you, keep it secure and diagnose problems.
We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers on this website. Our fonts, images and videos are served from our own website rather than third-party services.
How we use your data
Under UK data protection law we need a lawful basis for each way we use your data:
- Replying to your enquiry and considering your game for publishing. We do this because it is in our legitimate interests (and yours) to respond to the people who contact us, and because it is a step you have asked us to take before potentially entering into a contract with us.
- Working with you, if we go on to publish your game. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- Running and securing our website. This is in our legitimate interests.
- Meeting our legal obligations, for example keeping business records or responding to lawful requests from authorities.
We won't add you to a mailing list or use your details for marketing unless you ask us to. We never sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
We only share your data with the service providers we need to run our business:
- Vercel Inc., which hosts our website.
- Resend, which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Our email provider, which stores the messages we receive.
We may also share data with our professional advisers (such as lawyers and accountants), or where the law requires us to. Links on our site to Steam and social networks take you to services with their own privacy policies.
International transfers
Some of our service providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK-US data bridge where the provider is certified under it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to working together: deleted within 24 months of our last contact with you.
- If we work together: for as long as our relationship lasts, then for up to six years afterwards, to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
- Website technical logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period, in line with its own retention policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- ask us to delete your data
- ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to us using it
- ask us to send your data to you or another organisation in a portable format
To use any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We'll respond within one month. There's no charge in most cases.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Our website and services are aimed at game developers and businesses, not children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes, we'll make that clear on this page.
